You know what they say If You Go Black…

Orange is the new black? I don’t think so… Black will never go out of style!

Black is the one color that we can always depend on to be on trend and in style. The one color you can always rely on to make you feel fabulous! It’s the one color that looks good on any age and any shape!

This is especially true for us New Yorkers who have been embracing this color basically since birth. We drink our coffee black, shop on black Friday and especially love to dress ourselves in black. It is a color that is often associated with death and mourning, but I think black has been given a bad rep! It is truly an iconic and classic color that can look classy, edgy, and fashion-forward all at the same time. Wearing all black can make you feel powerful and rich, or cute and funky. It has the power to make you feel chic when you are in a fashion rut. I want to help you shop smarter for black! No more buying black just to cover up and hide from the world. When wearing black, you should be standing out from the crowd, not blending in!

One of the best ways to wear black is with an LBD, aka a little black dress. Karl Lagerfeld offered some of the best advice to women when he said that “One is never over-dressed or under-dressed with a Little Black Dress.” An LBD is something that should be in every woman’s closet no matter her age, size or style. It should be a dress that can work for any occasion, and something you put on when you just want to feel beautiful. A great example would be this Alberta Ferretti black cocktail strapless dress. The shiny detailing fabric really give this dress some sex appeal without making you feel uncomfortable. You will certainly stand out from a sea of boring when you step out in this gorgeous dress!

Another option for you to consider adding to your wardrobe would be this Alexander Mcqueen Black dress. The 3/4 longer sleeves make it perfect for cooler weather, and the V-neck really elongates the neck. The best thing about this dress is its versatility. This dress could be worn to a cocktail party with a stunning pair of stilettos and diamond earrings. However, it could also be worn to an important business meeting with a blazer and black pumps. This type of dress is going to make you feel confident, strong, and sexy no matter how you wear it. I guarantee that you’ll end up wearing it over and over again without ever getting bored of it.

I think that the color black is truly magical and can change your attitude about anything. If you are having a rough day, going out wearing your LBD will make you feel lively and happy. If you are nervous about a job interview, wearing your black power suit will give you confidence and strength. If you just want to feel better about the way you look, throw on a pair of Valentino black suede heels, and I guarantee you’ll be strutting down your own personal catwalk.

No matter how much I love bright colors and patterns, I will still always be drawn to the color black. It is such a simple, yet breathtaking color and it has a big impact on anyone wearing it. It goes with almost everything you already own, and adds its own flair to your outfits.

So why not shop black?? Save the bright colors for another day and start filling your closet with this amazing, forever-Stable color.

I want to know why you love the color black! Is it the effortless beauty, or the powerful air it gives off? What is your favorite way to wear it? An LBD? Some black stilettos? Let me know!KASIA

How to become New Yorker in one day.

Tips to fake it!!!. Grab a coffee and take some notes:

If you want to really become a New Yorker I got some tips for you which instant game you need to play. Don’t be shy about it everyone was new to New York one time. I can tell you with unshakable confidence that Manhattan can be excitedly amazing if you know how to blend in.yellow-cabs-1

Welcome to the world of high energy, excitment, intense pace of life, random sex –city that is always open to big dreams, opportunities and competitive ambition. I have lived in New York City for almost 24 years, and consider myself New Yorker at heart.

The city is like overwhelmed foster mother on steroids to all diverse immigrants from all cultures that never sleeps. Everyday it welcomes the world embracing equal opportunities to all. Everyone here has its chance to shine through hard work, persistence, passion in creating their own unique destiny.  Its residents always rise and fall on large dozes of Starbucks coffee. New York mentality of work hard and play even harder sums up the lifestyle of those who are hungry to claim the social ladder and are ready to run over each other. There is no precise schedule to do anything. If you desire to have pizza or ice cream at 1am you can appreciate having access to the best of things around the clock.

As much as you may hate the city on any given day, you would hate even more the thought of living elsewhere. It is often said that New Yorkers are rude, and not carrying about one another but I think what people mean by that is that New Yorkers are more direct.

CHANEL 9People on the street will often comment and ask,  “Where do you color your hair? I have the same dress and bag as you. How much did you pay? If they don’t like the way you treat your children be sure they will reprimand you. And if you try to cut in the front of somebody in check out line you will be swiftly put back into your place”

As much as New Yorkers want to correct you they are also willing to help. There is a theory that living in NYC when disaster strikes creates an instant bond and solidarity among the people. I know when I m about to reach a breaking point searching for a place to fall. But when I return to New York, I realize I couldn’t possibly live anywhere else.

New Yorkers do not look up ever, they always rush catching taxi or clinging to a pole in the subway. They play the game down when passing celebrities and stars as regular folks.

They kill cockroaches with their bare hands while accidently stepping on the rats. People will do anything to get attention.  Everybody has a story. They express themselves through flamboyant fashion, excessive excising, shopping, fine dining, street dancing, and singing while itching for romantic joie de vivre. NY has more to offer culturally than almost any other city in the world. It’s useful to learn how to distinguish and smoothly maneuver between central Park South, West, “Uptide” Uptown and trendy downtown.

Equip yourself with a pair of comfortable shoes, as you will be doing most of the cross long  walking within those chic neighborhoods. And while you march through the streets don’t ever open your big city map disclosing your tourist’s status.

The key to keep Manhattan’s  sane balance and fulfill your huge innovative ambition of being a real New Yorker is to glue big sincere banana smile on your face, avoid cultural misunderstandings and learn to expect efficient attentive service, pleasant attitudes everywhere.

NY is a magnet of stress, hypertension and super fast pace. In order to cope with it all you need to understand some basics and you will be having the last “Big Apple” laugh!

P.S. As always I wold like to hear from you how you fake YOUR WAY TO become a New Yorker? Share your tips…

Peter Lindbergh with spoken word at Vladimir Restoin Roitfeld Gallery

2014 Fashion Week in Full Spectrum

Here I bring you not only end of Sumer but back to fashion reality check this week. Everything you need to know and celebrate through lens of Peter Lindbergh with Forrest Gander spoken word at Vladimir Restoin Roitfeld Gallery.

Watching his work you instantly realize his passion and admiration for simplicity and beauty. In the blink of an eye world’s most magical portraits are borne disarming him at ease and simplicity. Through his poetic mix of Thirty-five images spanning around the Upper East Side gallery in NY and spoken word by poet Forrest Gander he added high-minded element to the exhibition. I found some familiar images from the famed nineties supermodels phenomenon group black and white photo of Christy Turlington, Linda Evengelista, Tatjana Patitz, Estelle Lefebure, Karen Alexander and Rachel Williams horsing around in white shirts on the beach in Santa Monica.

Peter Lindbergh gathers and unites some serious crowds. From fine arts to fashion everybody mixed and admired the artist’s timeless images from portraits to landscape.

The other eye-catching photo I stopped by was the sublime straightforward photo of Kate Moss in overalls from 1994. The artist has been an inspiration for generations which never stopped dreaming how to enrich and perceive romantic sensibilities. His photos are pure statements about human magical perfection rather than fashion. When he looks at your eyes you feel like the most interesting person in the world. He captures and registers life through self-expression and point of view. That’s really when you can’t help but remember this man is a true master.

Peter was gracious and sincere taking interest in everyone that evening. Have you ever met those people who, when they look into your eyes, you feel like butterflies turned your stomach? – Its precise artistic seduction.

PHOTO-1When he stands up he seems bigger then life always admiring and being open to people. He chooses to express himself for a reason.

His personal mission to attempt to make unknown, unseen world is very real and simply beautiful!!

P.S As always I would love to hear from you who is your favorite artist and how does his work inspire you?
